Maria C. Torres, MD, FACOG

Dr. Maria C. Torres is a native of Franklin, Texas (Robertson County). She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2003 with a Degree in Biomedical Science. Following graduation, she became a Research Associate with her focus being breast cancer at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas till 2005. She then pursued her medical career and earned her Medical Doctorate from Ross University in June 2009. She completed her OB/GYN residency training at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center in Dearborn, Michigan in June 2013.

During her residency training, Dr. Torres was selected as a presenter for the Barbara Holzman Stump the Professor session at the 2010 District V American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) meeting in Cancun, Mexico and then at the Annual ACOG meeting in San Diego, CA in May 2012. During her first year of training, she was awarded Intern of the Year. She also went on to receive Resident of the Year and the Resident Achievement Award by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopist during her chief year. She obtained her board certification in December 2015.

Dr. Torres' practice is open to obstetrics, infertility, urogynecology and variety of gynecology. Her training also included minimally invasive surgery, Da Vinci Robotic System, in office procedures, incontinence procedures and high risk pregnancies (diabetes, multiple gestations) for which she has a special interest. Dr. Torres is also fluent in Spanish.

She practices at 110 Medical Drive, Suite 100, across from the DeTar North Women and Children's Hospital. She has privileges at DeTar Navarro, DeTar Women and Children's Hospital and Citizens Medical Center.
