Victoria Women's Clinic

VWCA Lab is a fully HCFA Accredited Lab, and employs only ASCP registered technologists and technicians. With our new, state-of-the-art instrumentation, we are capable of performing not only routine tests such as CBCs and Urinalysis, but also routine Chemistry and Lipid profiles, as well as Thyroid function tests and tests of female hormone production. Quality control and Quality assurance are a part of every day routine, insuring that your tests are performed in a most professional manner and results are returned to your doctor in the shortest time possible. We also work with our Infertility specialists, to help determine possible causes of infertility and also to pinpoint the time of ovulation, and perform sperm washings to enhance inseminations. We do all in-house pre-natal labs, sending out only the most specialized tests. We are capable of same day analysis of the pregnancy hormones, which enable our doctors to follow "At-risk" pregnancies closer. Because we perform 95% of our lab work in-house, we are able to maintain better patient confidentiality. We maintain two office sites: one at 605 E. San Antonio in our office across from DeTar Hospital, and a second at 2700 Citizens Plaza, in our office across from Citizens Hospital. Both sites are full service staffed by our three full time and one part time technician. Our lab director, is Dr. C. R. Jaynes, who spent several years working in medical labs while in medical school. Our lab supervisor has over 35 years experience having worked in several hospitals in Austin before coming to the Women's Clinic in 1978. Our staff all have Associate degrees in Medical Technology, thus ensuring qualified personnel.

The Victoria Women's Clinic has its own in-house AIUM Accredited Ultrasound Department utilizing state of the art ultrasound equipment complete with color doppler capabilities. Our ARDMS registered sonographer has more than 10 years of scanning experience and specialties in performed all obstetric and gynecological ultrasound exams. Procedures performed in our office cover first, second and third trimester obstetrical ultrasound exams, all gynecological ultrasound exams including saline infusion sonohysterography, infertility ultrasound exams such as follicle scans and contrast sonohysterosalpingography and amniocentesis.
